Prospective particip<\/span>ants may register papers or audio <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">performances for presentation at the conference, the aim of which is to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">contribute to the international discussion on topics such as noise pollution, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">differing methods of interpretating and manipulating the acoustic environment, <\/span>as w<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ell as the possibilities to reflect on &#8220;acoustic ecology&#8221; in the educatio<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">al <\/span>process.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">T<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">he <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">conference picks up where the founding conference, CENSE, left off. The <\/span>Central European Netwo<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">rk for Sonic Ecologie<\/span>s conference was <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">held in Budapest at <\/span>the end of November and <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">beginning of December 2018.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The conference is ope<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">n to both theoretical and practical p<\/span>apers, analyses, pres<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">entations of particular artistic and research projects, and to reports on the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">subject of acoustic ecology and related disciplines.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Thematic blocks of the conference:&nbsp;<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b> <\/b><strong>Sound as a&nbsp;source of information and a&nbsp;means of environmental change<br \/>\n<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The acoustic environment as an indicator of the critical state of the world and <\/span>the need t<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">o alter our relation to it.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong> Context as one of the parameters of sound interpretation<br \/>\n<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The importance of the social context for ou<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">r <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ability to liste<\/span>n and understand sound.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><strong> Sound as an inner experience<br \/>\n<\/strong><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Acoustic ecology&#8221; as a&nbsp;possibility for transforming our relation to the world <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in both art and science.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong> Sound and education: sound literacy<\/strong> <br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Listening as an important part of upbringing and education. Sound activism.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong> Design and sound<\/strong> <br \/>\nConnections between architecture, urbanism, design, and acoustics.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The focus of these thema<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">tic blocks is defined broadly. Contributions m<\/span>ay be read as a&nbsp;paper, howe<i>v<\/i>er we <i>w<\/i>ould prefer a&nbsp;free pres<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">entation.
