The Dean of FUD UJEP announces a faculty open call for a one-month artistic residency at Schafhof \u2013 European Art Forum Upper Bavaria<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/strong> for the year 2026.<\/p>\n

The residency is intended for PhD students and academic staff of FUD UJEP.<\/p>\n

Dates<\/h2>\n

The residency consists of a one-month stay to be realised in September, October, or November 2026, based on an agreement between the selected resident and Schafhof \u2013 European Art Forum Upper Bavaria<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Conditions<\/h2>\n

The resident will be provided with accommodation in a spacious studio apartment, which may also be used for artistic work. The residency further includes travel to and from Freising and a scholarship of EUR 800.<\/p>\n

Outcomes<\/h2>\n

The primary outcome of the residency is the realisation of an artistic project, which will subsequently be presented, after a certain period of time, in an exhibition of artworks created during residencies held at Schafhof \u2013 European Art Forum Upper Bavaria<\/span><\/span> in 2026.<\/p>\n

The project should conceptually relate to the annual theme announced by Schafhof \u2013 European Art Forum Upper Bavaria<\/span><\/span>. For 2026, the theme is: Game and Chance.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Another aim of the residency is to gain new cultural and social impulses and, potentially, to establish international contacts. It is also worth mentioning that Freising is located near Munich<\/span><\/span>, with direct suburban train connections taking less than 30 minutes to reach the city centre.<\/p>\n

Application<\/h2>\n

Please submit the online application<\/a> by 9 June 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As part of the application, applicants are required to formulate a project proposal clearly outlining the intention and expectations connected with the residency and explaining the relationship between their artistic practice or proposed project and the annual theme. Applicants are also required to upload their professional CV.<\/p>\n
