Drawing and Painting Studio

The Drawing and Painting Studio focuses primarily on developing drawing and painting skills. The essential prerequisite for this study is a passion for artistic expression through drawing and painting. The instruction in drawing runs in parallel with painting instruction. The study begins for first-year students predominantly with traditional subject drawing and painting. The student acquires a basic set of techniques, expands their expressive means, becomes familiar with composition, and breaks free from the stereotypes and habits they bring to FUD. After gradually acquiring these fundamentals, students delve into figurative composition, drawing and painting portraits, and the nude. They also engage in study assignments, tackling various projects in different artistic techniques, which expand their learning and provide insights beyond drawing and painting techniques. An integral part of the Drawing and Painting Studio is also the instruction in painting technology, which familiarizes students with both traditional techniques and current trends in this field. Recently, the instruction has been extended to include an optional course in puppet theater scenography, where students have the opportunity to create puppets or stage design, applying skills gained from both spatial creation and drawing and painting. For many years, the studio has also offered evening drawing and painting courses for the public as part of lifelong learning.
