Open call for international PhD students
The Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design (Wroclaw, Poland) announces an open call for a symposium for PhD students from art universities, which will run from 16 to 20 of May 2022. During the 5-days meeting, entitled Research Methods in Visual Arts, aims to share the experience of using research methods applied to an artist’s work.
The Symposium participants will take part in lectures given by Polish artist researchers. PhD students will have the opportunity to share their experience and present the research methods that they have been using in their work on a doctoral dissertation. They will also learn how PhD students from The Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design lead their research. The week-long symposium is going to be a space for meetings and networking for young artists from over a dozen countries. The participants will also take part in a one-day workshop on intercultural communication, organised by the Academy International Relations Office. PhD students will learn about the functionality and unique infrastructure of The Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design. This event is aimed at creating opportunities for joint projects between young artists and the Academy in Wroclaw.
The participant of the symposium can be a foreign PhD student from an art university. Each participant of the Symposium is obliged to join the PROM programme as a participant, which requires filling in the documents sent by the Symposium’s organiser. In accordance with the principles of the PROM programme, implemented at The Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design, the Symposium participant can be a person, who study at doctoral studies (i.e. before his/her doctoral dissertation) and is under 40 at the time of joining the programme. The rules of recruitment to the programme assume the principle of equal opportunities for women and men. Recruitment for the Symposium runs from 15 October to 30 November 2021. The recruitment decision will be taken by the Recruitment Committee on the basis of the application form and the candidate’s portfolio.
