Lecture by Jocelyne Prince, glass artist and professor (USA)
The lecture will introduce the work of an American artist working with glass and working for many years in the Glass Studio at the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, USA.
Jocelyne Prince’s work is experimental, conceptual and performative. Jocelyne is currently a Fulbright Scholar at UTB in Zlín. Her research includes a project for NFA Ponrepo. She has been researching the optical properties of glass for a long time, and has connected her work with metallurgical glass, i.e. her projects often feature glass in its hot form. The memory of metallurgical glass is written into the optical properties of glass in its cool and solid state. Find out more directly from the artist. The lecture will be held in English.
