Ceramic design

Studio

We offer our students the possibility to touch the material. Get inspired by handicraft. Understand classical techniques (drawing and modelation). Master digital 2D and 3D technologies and functional design methods. Learn to communicate with producers, curators and galleries. Be a part of our team and at the same time be responsible for individual projects.

The requirement for this study is not the ceramic skills gained at your college, it is the courage, curiosity and enthusiasm to explore and experiment. We are aware of the fact that humans in the 21st century are placed in precarious role of constantly updating themselves. That is why we support individual development of each students’ personality, we give them space to find themselves and their intuitive creative approach.

The study is carried out in the form of consultations, but also by organising workshops with domestic and international lecturers. The teaching is structured on the basis of semester and final works where we all together discuss different ways in the fields of design and art, whether it is a product, an object, an installation or the ways of working with virtuality of today. The studio also supports traveling and exploration of domestic and international context through Erasmus+ Programme.

The graduates understand the contexts and excel in theoretical knowledge. They have a real practical experience, know how to work with materials. They know how to communicate and be ready for cooperation with producers in professional humility and empathy. At the same time, they are prepared for individual journey outside the realm of ceramics and porcelain.
