We are announcing an open call for two residencies in Paris in 2026 – deadline extended to 02/03/2026!
The Faculty of Art and Design at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem (FUD UJEP) and the Cité internationale des arts in Paris have co-developed a research and creation residency programme dedicated to artists and curators from the FUD UJEP ecosystem.
Experiment by Cast Iron
“Experiment by Cast Iron” is an international symposium expanding on the momentum of its 2019 and 2021 editions. Between December 8 and 17, FUD UJEP will host a full program dedicated to the methods and possibilities of the material. The Studio of Natural Materials, in collaboration with educators and artists from the Czechia, Moravia, Slovakia, and the United States, will engage in processes associated with cast-iron art production.

We cordially invite you to the opening of the exhibition, which will take place on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 6 pm at the House of Arts Ústí nad Labem. A guided tour of the exhibition with the artist and the curator will be held at 5 pm. Prominent Slovak artist Ilona Németh presents in Ústí nad Labem a complex authorial project that critically reflects on the current climate crisis through the metaphor of dying thuja trees—the “trees of life.”
