Assoc. Prof. PhDr. Tomáš PAVLÍČEK, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor at the Department of History and Theory of Arts at the Faculty of Art and Design at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem.

He has been affiliated with Jan Evangelista Purkyně University since 1996, initially at the Department of Art Education and, since 2002, at the Department of History and Theory of Arts at the Faculty of Art and Design (FUD). From 2007 to 2019, he served as the head of the Department of History and Theory of Arts.

He is a member of the doctoral program committee for Visual Arts at FUD, a member of the editorial board of the journal Výtvarná výchova, a member of the Heritage Council at the National Heritage Institute (NPÚ) in Ústí nad Labem since 2016, and since 2018, a member of the working group of the City Architect of Most.

As a curator, he has contributed to exhibitions organized by the agency Foibos s.r.o., and has collaborated on exhibition projects for the North Bohemian Gallery of Fine Arts in Litoměřice, the Regional Museum in Ústí nad Labem, and the Regional Museum and Gallery in Most.

Tomáš Pavlíček focuses on the history and theory of architecture and art, with a particular interest in researching overlooked areas of architectural development, especially in Northern Bohemia. Within this research, he explores the relationship between society and architecture, issues of memory and place, and the ways in which relations between these phenomena are formed. He has published his findings both in Czech and international publications. Among his key works are the following:
