Visual design
The Studio of Visual Design is an enthusiastic, workshop-like environment operating within the field of graphic design and visual communication. Students are encouraged to maintain a sustained engagement with the discipline and are prepared to respond to both traditional and unforeseen assignments.
The themes addressed in the studio frequently transcend the framework of conventional graphic outputs, encompassing printed and digital media, objects, and interactive installations. Projects are understood as opportunities for exploration, discussion, experimentation, contextual understanding, theoretical reflection, and individual expression. The primary objective is the development of the student-designer’s personality and abilities within the context of intensive studio-based instruction.
The studio functions as a collective unit that integrates both teamwork and individual work, with students participating to a certain degree in the self-governance, development, and direction of the studio. Visual Design is strongly oriented toward interdisciplinary collaboration and the involvement of visiting lecturers.
The ongoing need to revise and redefine the field of graphic design and the role of the designer is considered an essential component of the studio’s discourse. The aim of the program is to provide “future-oriented activities” and to equip students with the skills and competencies necessary to operate autonomously and professionally within the discipline, while contributing to its further innovation.
