Volitelný kurz v anglickém jazyce otevřený pro studentky a studenty druhého ročníku bakalářských studijních programů Design (specializace Design) a Výtvarná umění.

Zimní semestr akademického roku 2022/2023

Pilotní ověření – tento studijní předmět je zařazen do studijního plánu v zimním semestru třetího ročníku bakalářských studijních programů Design (specializace Design) a Výtvarná umění. V akademické roce 2022/2023 probíhá pilotní ověření tohoto studijního předmětu v rámci výuky pro druhý ročník bakalářských studijních programů Design (specializace Design) a Výtvarná umění. Studentky a studenti, kteří se v tomto akademickém roce do studijního předmětu zapíší a úspěšně ho absolvují, získají dva kreditní body, přičemž podmínkou ve druhém ročníku je získání dvou kreditních bodů za volitelný předmět. To znamená, že další volitelný předmět si tyto studentky a studenti nemusí zapisovat.

Experiencing Performance

The module is divided into four main focuses:

1. Re-enactments of performances: The study of the history of performance art offers valuable experiences that can be used to train sensitivity to performative everyday experiences. I am not interested in a purely theoretical discussion, but in practical appropriation and experience.
2. Observing performative actions of everyday life: Individual and communal life is characterised by performative actions. With our bodies we stand in the world, relate to itand change it through conscious and unconscious, ritually and aesthetically charged actions. These (performative) actions are to be observed and reconstructed inside and outside the university.
3. Digitalisation and performativity: For some years now, performative practices have received increased attention in the international art scene; it is worth remembering, for example, that performative art positions won the Golden Lion at the last two Venice Biennales. The performative is increasingly shaping fashion, design, architecture, communication, etc. Are these tendencies effects of digitalisation? In teaching, I would like to explore with the students whether and how digitalisation is changing human experience and how this can be responded to with aesthetic means.
4. The own (performative) work: Based on what the students have learned, their experiences and observations, they will develop their own performances, performative objects and interventionist processes in which the experience is central.

Hannes Egger

Born 1981 in Bolzano (I), studied philosophy at the University of Vienna (A) and at the "La Sapienza" in Rome (I). He is currently a contract lecturer at the Faculty of Art at the Free University of Bolzano.

The artistic practice of Hannes Egger is linked to an essentially conceptual approach aimed at engaging and interacting with the public. His performances, installations and participatory projects invite people to adopt an unusual attitude or viewpoint, in order to reflect on our surrounding reality and the way we share the spaces we inhabit. His concept of art does not refer to an opus in the most traditional sense, but consists of creating situations of an open and in-progress platform, to see how these situations will develop once the audience participates. Egger often provides some coordinates or instructions to follow, and thus turns the action of the participant into the art work itself.

His works have been shown in solo exhibitions at Usti nad Labem House of Arts (CZ); Centro d'Arte, Cavalese (I); Mewo Kunsthalle, Memmingen (D); Galerie M, Berlin (D); Empty Cube, Lisbon (PT); Cubo Garutti – Museion, Bolzano (I); Festung Franzensfeste, Franzensfeste (I); Tiroler Landesmuseum Ferdinandeum, Innsbruck (A); Export Kubus, Wien (A); Stellwerk, Kassel (D).
