The study of wave phenomena, esp sound and their visual represenatation. Cooling plate is the most know experiment in this field where visual patterns emerge on the layer of sand on the metal plate which is resonating with sounds played from loudspeaker.

Images in this book resulted from attempts of imitating this phenomena in digital realm by transmuting sound frequencies into images by advance methods of processing raw data.
